About Me
I am a middle school science teacher with a primary focus on the 8th-grade curriculum. I received my B.S. in Evolution and Ecology from the Division of Biological Sciences at the University of California, Davis. Following graduation, I continued at UC Davis as a postgraduate researcher, studying the evolutionary history of native California reptiles and amphibians. It was during this time that I developed an interest in teaching and decided to enroll in the teaching credential program at UC Davis. This dual program included a Master of Arts in Science Education.
As education has transitioned from analog to digital, I have recognized the transformative power of educational technology in shaping how students think, learn, and share their knowledge. Consequently, I have been using a digital classroom for almost a decade and have gone completely paperless.
Beyond classroom teaching, I have held various roles on campus. I have served as a department chair for many years and have been a member of several committees, including the School Site Council, Site Governance Team, Instructional Learning Team, and AVID Site Team. Additionally, I have coached after-school sports for many years. I enjoy taking on leadership positions within my school and aim to teach elective courses in applied digital skills and computer science fundamentals in the coming years.
